Word may treat Law App files as untrusted or from a network location.
To fix this:
Open Word and go to File > Options > Trust Center.
Click Trust Center Settings.
Under Protected View, uncheck:
- “Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet”
- “Enable Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe locations”
Go to File Block Settings and allow modern Word documents to open/edit.
(Optional) Add Law App’s location to Trusted Locations. Tick “Subfolders are also trusted.”
Sometimes documents carry embedded SharePoint or enterprise security restrictions. If a document has these embedded, Law App cannot override them even if it’s visible. You may need IT support to adjust the document settings directly in Microsoft Word or remove external restrictions.
Ask your IT provider to assist if you don’t have admin access. Once trusted, documents will open without warnings.
