How can I adjust a bill so that it reflects a specific total amount owed by the client

Law App allows you to control the client’s outstanding balance by adjusting the current bill amount. This is particularly useful when you need the total owing to reflect a specific figure—for example, $4,250.

Here’s how it works:

If there’s already a prior balance on the client’s account, you can set the new bill to make up the difference.

For instance, if the prior balance is $1,530.74, a new bill for $2,719.26 will bring the total to $4,250.

This method helps ensure the client’s statement reflects the correct amount owed without needing to adjust historical invoices.

Tip: Law App will apply GST correctly on the newly adjusted bill, and the client’s debtor statement will reflect the full outstanding figure.
