How Conversion Works
There is a single conversion of your financial data. We do this once, on a Friday afternoon, and you start fresh in Law App the following Monday.
We convert new clients on 3 Fridays of every month, plus the last business day of the month, scheduled on a booking-by-booking basis. Your go-live does not need to be at month-end — a bank reconciliation can be done at any point.
What We Carry Forward
On conversion day, we take a copy of your database and bring across:
- Outstanding time entries (work recorded but not yet billed)
- Outstanding disbursements (expenses on files not yet billed)
- Outstanding invoices (sent to clients but not yet paid)
Historic entries that have already been billed and paid do not come across — they’ve already been processed and don’t need to.
Your Go-Live Week at a Glance
| When | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Friday |
Your last working day in the old system. Send your outstanding invoice list (with GST) to accounts@lawsupport.com.au by 2:30pm. At 3pm, Law Support takes a copy of your database and performs the conversion. |
| Weekend | You can finalise bank reconciliations over the weekend if you prefer — or wait until Monday morning. |
| Monday Morning |
Do a final check on your Trust bank reconciliation — make sure nothing came in after Friday. Email your Trust Trial Balance to accounts@lawsupport.com.au (CC support@lawsupport.com.au). Send us the bank balance for your General account as at end of day Friday. |
| Monday Midday |
We enter your Trust carry-forward (takes 1.5–2 hours). While you wait, you can start entering General account transactions straight away. |
| Monday Afternoon | You’re live! Start entering Trust transactions and using Law App for everything going forward. |
